Labor and the collection Visualodour (Barcelona) summon the production grant Visualodour in order to grant a residence of production to one European artist under the age of 40 for the realization of an artistic project framed in the field of art, science and technology.
scholarship is an endowment of 12,000 euros for the production of the work. The selected artist will work for two months on platform 0. Production of labour and access to technical resources and human advice over the course of a residence of production which will take place between May and June this year. Subsequently, the piece will be displayed in the expanded library of the Center for art and Industrial creation in Gijón in an exhibition at LABoral, which will take between July 11 to October 12, 2014, where the produced work will speak with other pieces from this collection.
Visualodour is a collection of contemporary art formed according to the vision of the creator of essences and collector Ernesto Ventós: smell, which is chemistry, is built from a light physical reality, the color. Named by the poet Joan Brossa, Visualodour was born in the year 1978 after the olfactory suggestions exhibition, held at the Joan Miro Foundation in Barcelona and from the transformation of Ràfols-Casamada paint odors. Later collector passes the assignment to the choice of a work, always accompanied by a text by the artist himself, where highlights the synesthesia of his work relationship with smell, monographic theme of the collection.
